Busy full on day again today, glad I wasn't the only one who got a little bit befuddled along the way. Again, thanks to those hosting and supporting - I'm grateful my questions are not (hopefully) driving you to despair. Sandpit time is more and more important to try and get this learning into practise and get my class site actually running and being purposeful.

Wow this week was again a bit mind blowing! Hats off to the DFI crew. Really enjoyed the Google Maps session, great way to share our own stories and adventures and has heaps of prospects for our classes. I'm thinking that mapping out the EOTC options in our school may be really inspiring to our students and help them value what we have in our backyard before they head out into the wider world. We talked today about the value of modelling and leaving enough sandpit time to explore, make mistakes and share the learning. It's something I will take with me into the classroom - more sandpit time and more sharing time. Thanks Maria for an inspiring session - great experience seeing you thinking outside the square, persevering and patience from my perspective as an adult learner. Another very busy session, I have a heap to learn. It was great to delve into Create with Dorothy earlier today. The discussion and associated links/research further validated our children having opportunities to design, build, garden, dig into compost bins, hold wriggly slimy tiger worms, investigate playground projects and decide collectively how to move forward with what we want to do next. Actively being involved in decisions and actions is obviously engaging for our students. The word ako is being used more often and power of our team is gaining momentum - both in words and actions. I loved having time on Youtube to develop playlists. I used the time to investigate the whale stranding in Golden Bay and make playlists which I can share with the class. I will work with colleagues to keep up skilling.
